Paul and Carrie

Welcome to our blog!  We were married December 4th, 2010 (almost 2 months!) and are both meteorologists.  We currently live in Juneau, AK but will be moving to the Washington, DC area in just a few weeks.  This blog will be a conglomeration of our various adventures, of course some meteorology talk, horse stuff, food things (specifically food incidents in the case of Carrie), book/movie reviews and other topics that may or may not be of interest to you.  Alright, you've been warned!

Let's start out talking about our wedding...

It was a beautiful sunny warm day in Raleigh, North Carolina with temperatures in the mid 50s. A slight breeze gently scuttled dry leaves across the ground as the sun shown brightly in a Carolina blue sky.  Wait a minute, that doesn't sound right!.......

Visibility was down to almost half a mile as moderate snow started to blanket the Raleigh-Durham area.  A winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service as almost 2 inches accumulated on grassy surfaces.  Honestly, is there better weather for two meteorologists getting married in Raleigh in December?  Nope!  Perfect to the last flake I tell ya.

That's snow on top of our wedding transportation (a vintage Rolls)!  Our ceremony was held at North Raleigh United Methodist Church with a reception at the Capital City Club of Raleigh.  This was by far the wedding of our dreams and I can't imagine changing anything.  The whole evening was a blur and am so happy to have it thoroughly documented.  We both tried our best to talk with everyone who came to celebrate with us and agree that was the best part of the entire night.

Here we are right after the ceremony:

Our wedding colors were ivory, dark red and gold accents.  It matched so well with the decorations at both the Capital City Club and the church due to it being so close to Christmas.

We departed the reception to a barrage of glistening bubbles!  A wonderful end to an amazing celebration.  What good memories!

Love,
